PESHAWAR: The provincial government is preparing a comprehensive development strategy worth Rs. 100 billion for Peshawar.

A grand consultative meeting will soon be convened to finalize and fast-track these initiatives.

The matter was discussed during a high-level meeting of district Peshawar’s parliamentarians, which brought together current and former assembly members along with senior political leadership of the city.

The session focused on restoring Peshawar’s historic stature, accelerating its development trajectory, and addressing the major challenges facing the provincial capital.

During the meeting, it was also decided that a grand public gathering will be held in Peshawar on December 7, with detailed deliberations held on the administrative and political arrangements required for its successful organization.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi said that Peshawar is not only the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but the face of the entire province, and as such, any delay in its development, beautification, or in resolving its core civic issues will not be tolerated.

Reaffirming the government’s resolve, he stated that the administration is fully committed to reviving Peshawar’s past glory and will accelerate development initiatives across the city, adding that priority measures will be undertaken to advance mega projects, enhance urban services, and strengthen the city’s infrastructure. He stressed that all available resources will be mobilized to transform Peshawar into a modern, dynamic, and prosperous metropolitan hub.
