LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday sought reply from Secretary Social Welfare Punjab on a contempt petition questioning the failure to regularize the jobs of visually impaired persons within one week.
The petitioner Samira Yasmin and others through their counsel argued that the visually impaired individuals had not been regularized in their jobs.
He pointed out that the court had earlier directed the secretary to decide the petitioners’ employment matter in accordance with the law, but the order had not been complied with so far.
He asked the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the respondent secretary for violating the court’s order.
The court after hearing the petitioners’ counsel at length issued a notice to the respondent secretary and sought a reply within a week.
