KARACHI: Gold prices, locally and globally, shot up on Wednesday with international bullion value nearing USD4,100 per ounce, traders said.
Tracking world market robust gains, local gold prices soared sharply by Rs7,900 to Rs431,562 per tola and Rs6,773 to Rs369,994 per 10 grams, Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.
On the international stage, gold bullion prices rose by USD79, reaching USD4,092 per ounce with silver rates growing by USD2 to settle at USD52 per ounce.
Mirroring a global uptrend, silver prices surged by Rs177 and Rs152 to Rs5,422 per tola and Rs4,648 per 10 grams, respectively, according to the association.
It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at different prices as compared to those fixed by the association officially.
