KARACHI: Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment, Fauzia Viqar visited Wafi Energy Pakistan and addressed an awareness seminar focused on creating safe and inclusive workplaces for all.
She reaffirmed that Pakistan’s Constitution guarantees equality for every citizen regardless of gender or identity, including men, women, and transgender persons.
She emphasized that any act of harassment or discrimination is a violation of personal dignity and a barrier to progress.
Highlighting the role of women in national development, she maintained that enabling women to work freely and without fear would boost the country’s economic output by nearly 30 percent.
Viqar encouraged organizations to ensure equal access to education and employment, stressing that workplace harassment extends beyond sexual misconduct to include any form of unfair treatment or bias.
The session concluded with a token of appreciation presented to Fauzia Viqar for her continued commitment to advancing gender equality and promoting a culture of respect and accountability in professional environment.
