ISLAMABAD: On the instructions of Chairman FBR Rashid Mahmood Langrial and Member Taxpayers’ Services Ms Tahmina Aamer, TPS Wing organised a tax awareness session at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI). The initiative is part of FBR’s facilitation drive to foster better understanding of tax system and promote a culture of tax compliance in Pakistan.
At the outset, Secretary Compliance of TPS Wing Ms Kiran Zahra gave introductory remarks which were followed by a comprehensive briefing on the tax structure and overall working of FBR by Second Secretary (Tax Education) Zafar Iqbal.
The audience was apprised about various reform initiatives and measures being undertaking by FBR to enhance efficiency and performance of tax collection mechanism. The participants were also given a virtual presentation on how to file their returns on the newly introduced simplified income tax return form.
President ICCI Nasir Mansoor Qureshi and other office bearers of the Chamber were also present on the occasion.
The event concluded with a detailed question & answer session followed by distribution of souvenirs among the participants.
