LAHORE: "Our sympathy is with the oppressed who are suffering injustice due to religious prejudice," said Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif in her message on ‘International Day for Commemorating Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief.’

The CM added, "Islamophobia is a bitter reality all over the world. Attacks on mosques, restrictions on women wearing ‘hijab’ and a practice of linking Muslims to terrorism are causes of concern for the humanity."

The Chief Minister said, "Land of Palestine is red with the blood of martyrs, sighs of innocent children are being buried in the thunder of bullets. Valleys of Kashmir are still bleeding from centuries-old suffering."

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said, "Kashmir and Gaza are question marks on the conscience of humanity that international community is still unable to answer." She added, "We always stand with every oppressed person who is suffering from oppression and atrocities on religious grounds."

The CM said, "Religion of Islam loves peace and teaches tolerance. We are and will remain with every oppressed person. Promoting religious tolerance and mutual respect at all levels is our commitment."
