LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) and the University of Home Economics (UHE) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at playing a collective role to promote business and economic activities.

President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashif Anwar and Vice Chancellor of the University of Home Economics Prof Dr Syeda Faleeha Zahra Kazmi inked the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations. LCCI Executive Committee Member Fareeha Younas and Secretary General Shahid Khalil were also present on the occasion.

According to the MoU, LCCI and UHE would engage in conducting joint seminars, workshops and awareness sessions in areas of mutual interest. Both organisations would collaborate and undertake joint research projects with mutual consent.

LCCI and UHE would establish a collaborative relationship for promoting the use of advanced technologies and services in Food and Nutrition, textile, fashion, interior design, fine arts, IT, computer sciences, visual communication and design and other areas.

Both organisations would facilitate each other by sharing their respective research publications and information on international trade, government rules and regulations, WTO International Quality Standards and other relevant information.

He said that LCCI would facilitate UHE students, if and whenever possible in finding internship with LCCI member companies. The LCCI and UHE would also collaborate for promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and commercialization activities.

LCCI President Kashif Anwar said that the linking academia with the business needs is a crucial step which must remain at the forefront.

He appreciated the management of the University of Home Economics for joining hands with Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He assured of his fullest cooperation for success of the aims and objectives set in the MoU and hoped that the agreement would go a long way and yield good results.

The LCCI president said that the MoU was signed for joint collaboration in research, training and event organisation.
