KARACHI: Muhammad Jawed Patron In-Chief of Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PHMA) has urged Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) and Federal Ministry for Energy, Petroleum Division, Government of Pakistan inform clearly with assurances and firm commitment the earliest whether the gas will be supplied and available 24/7 with required pressure to export industries in Karachi or not?
In a letter to SSGCL and ministry, he asked for prompt reply that will enable the exporters to decide to take or decline new order, accordingly. He said that PHMA has been approached by its various member exporters complaining about disruption in supply of gas during working days and two weekly gas holidays which has been severely hampered the export production.
In working days, in certain industrial areas some export industries have been facing low gas pressure or zero gas pressure twice from 07:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 05:00 PM TO 11:00 PMon which the industries could not operate.
