FAISALABAD: Full operation against electricity theft of Fesco is ongoing. In the ongoing operation under the direction of the prime minister of Pakistan and the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), a total of 363 electricity thieves have been caught from the Fesco region during six days.
An FIR was registered against 127 electricity thieves. During house-to-house checking, the teams in Faisalabad district caught 127 electricity thieves, of which 115 were domestic, 5 commercial, 5 agricultural and one industrial connection. These electricity thieves were fined penalty bill of 1 crore 45 lac 66 thousand rupees of 341,804 detection units. During the checking in Bhakkar district, the Fesco teams caught 30 electricity thieves, including 29 domestic and one commercial connection.
They were fined Rs 2442000 rupees for 51,075 detection units. Similarly, a total of 31 cases of electricity theft were caught in Chiniot district, including 29 domestic, one commercial and one agricultural connection, who were fined Rs 21 lac 82 thousand for 73,692 detection units. A total of 61 electricity thieves were caught, including 57 domestic and 4 agricultural connections, who were fined 73 lac 24 thousand rupees for 252,523 detection units.
A total of 13 domestic connections were found involved in electricity theft in Khushab district, and a fine of 7 lac 50 thousand was imposed for 18,553 units. During checking, a total of 28 electricity thieves were arrested in district Mianwali. Among them 25 domestic, 2 agricultural and one commercial connection were caught, they were fined 32 lac 99 thousand rupees for 79,914 detection units. A total of 36 cases of electricity theft were caught in Sargodha district, including 33 domestic, 2 agricultural and one commercial connection.
A fine of 30 lac 52 thousand rupees was issued of 70,687 detection units. Similarly, the Fesco teams caught a total of 38 electricity thieves in Toba Tek Singh district, including 37 domestic and one agricultural connection. A fine of 34 lac 75 thousand rupees issued to 84,046 detection units.
