KARACHI: Increased cost of electricity is quite painful and it has damaged the industry, SMEs and the household badly, said Ateeq ur Rehman (economic & financial analyst).
Now, it has become almost impossible for a common man to comply with other necessities after paying such hefty electricity bills.
Also, the exports, the main source of our foreign exchange earnings, collapsed under the power sector’s burden.
The much-needed stress for “subsidised loans to facilitate the installation of solar power generation systems, whether small or big” is necessary for survival of household and industry at the same time.
The government and the State Bank should allow subsidised and easy loan facilities everywhere and to everyone for the survival of household and industry.
