Soy up 12-15 cents, corn up 2-4 cents, wheat up 4-6 cents

CHICAGO: Following are US trade expectations for the opening of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) at 8:30 a.m. CST (1430 GMT) on Tuesday.

WHEAT - Up 4 cents to 6 cents

Technical bounce expected in wheat. Weak dollar also supportive.

CBOT December soft red winter wheat found support at its five-day moving average overnight before rallying above its 20-day moving average.

CBOT December soft red winter wheat last traded up 5-1/2 cents at $6.13 per bushel. K.C. December hard red winter wheat was last up 6 cents at $5.59. MGEX December spring wheat was last 3 cents higher at $5.59.

CORN - Up 2 cents to 4 cents

Bargain-buying expected after most-active corn contract dropped 29 cents from the 14-1/2-month peak it hit in late October.

Corn futures also supported by reduced harvest expectations after StoneX lowered its outlook for US corn production to 14.762 billion bushels and its yield forecast to 178.9 bushels per acre.

CBOT December corn faced technical resistance at its 20-day moving average overnight.

CBOT December corn was last 2-3/4 cents higher at $4.00-1/4 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - Up 12 cents to 15 cents

Soybeans strong on concerns about declining US harvest expectations and robust export demand.

A US grain export terminal is loading about 38,000 tonnes of US soybeans for shipment to Brazil.

StoneX lowered its forecast for US soybean production to 4.291 billion bushels and its average yield outlook to 52.1 bushels per acre.

Benchmark CBOT January soybeans rose above their 20-day moving average overnight. The contract briefly topped its 10-day moving average but failed to hold support above that key technical point.

CBOT January soybeans last traded up 12-1/4 cents at $10.64-1/2 per bushel.
