Vote for COVID-19 vaccine: BJP promises free treatment if elected in Bihar

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has included free COVID-19 vaccines in elections manifesto for the upcoming Bihar assembly polls.

The manifesto, which is released in Patna on Thursday by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, said every resident of Bihar will get a vaccine, approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), free of cost.

Speaking to reporter, she said, “In the fight against Corona, Bihar’s NDA government has set an example for the rest of the country.”

“It is our resolution that the moment Covid-19 vaccine is available after approval from ICMR, every ‘Biharwaasi’ will get free vaccination.”

BJP also promised the technical education, medical and engineering courses will also be imparted in Hindi in Bihar to ensure a large number of students are able to benefit from it.

The party also promised to provide 1.9 million jobs if they get power in Bihar. BJP promised to recruit three hundred thousand new teachers, and create other jobs in health, IT and agriculture sectors.

The highlights of the party’s manifesto, displayed through a power point presentation, include the promise of free of cost vaccination for the coronavirus and recruitment of three lakh teachers in primary, secondary and higher educational institutions.
