KYIV: Ukraine sugar refineries had produced 92,600 tonnes of white sugar from 719,000 tonnes of sugar beet harvested in 2020 as of Oct. 1, the Ukrtsukor national sugar union said on Friday.
The union said previously that output of white sugar is likely to fall by 15pc in 2020 to around 1.2 million tonnes.
White sugar production fell by 19pc in 2019 to 1.48 million tonnes due to a smaller beet harvest.
