PARIS: European Union soybean imports in the 2017/18 season that began on July 1 had reached 5.4 million tonnes by Dec. 12, down 12 percent from 6.1 million tonnes imported by the same stage last season, official data showed on Thursday.
For soymeal, cumulative EU imports so far in 2017/18 totalled 8.7 million tonnes, up 6 percent from 8.3 million a year ago.
Palm oil imports stood at 2.8 million tonnes, up 4 percent from 2.7 million a year earlier, the data showed.
