Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan on Sunday notified official results of the general elections of Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly held on November 12. The notification said that in Gilgit district independent candidate, Syed Razi uddin Rizvi won from LA-1, Gilgit-I and another independent candidate, Didar Ali from LA-2 Gilgit- II, PPP Candidate, Muhammad Ali Akhtar won from LA-4 Gilgit-IV.
PML-Q Candidate Mirza Hussain has been declared successful from LA-5 Gilgit-V and Wazir Baig of PPP returned successful from LA-6 Gilgit-VI. In Skardu, notification added, PPP Candidate, Mehdi Shah won from LA-7 Skardu-I, PPP candidate Nisar Hussain from LA-8, Skardu-II, PPP Candidate, Wazir Shakil Ahmed from LA-9, Skardu III, PPP Candidate, Wazir Hassan from LA-10, Skardu IV, PPP candidate, Syed Muhamamd Ali Shah Rizvi from LA-11, Skardu-V were among the successful candidates, while MQM Candidate, Raja Azam Khan was declared successful from LA-12 Skardu VI.
The notification said in Astor district, Abdul Hamid, independent candidate from LA-13, Astor I, won the poll and PPP Candidate from LA-14, Astore- II was also notified as successful candidate.
The notification said that in Diamer district PML-Q candidate, Bashir Ahmed returned successful from LA-15, Diamer-I, PML-N candidate, Janbaz Khan from LA-16, Diamer- II and JUI Candidate, Gulbar Khan from LA-18, Diamer IV. According to the notification in Ghizer district, PPP's Dr Ali Madad Sher returned successful from LA-20, Ghizer-I, and independent Candidate, Muhammad Ayub Shah won from LA-21, Ghizer- III.
The official results in Ghanche were also notified which declared that PPP's Muhammad Jaffar from LA-22 Ghanche-I, PML-N candidate from LA-23, Ghanche-II and PPP candidate Muhammad Ismail from LA-24, Ghanche- III as returned successful.
The Chief Election Commissioner, Rahim Nawaz Durrani said that the results of LA-3, Gilgit-III and LA-17, Diamer-III were held and there would be re-elections in some polling stations of these two constituencies. The re-election in LA-3, Gilgit-III, he added, would be held on November,18 while date of re-elections in LA-17 Diamer-III would be announced later. The results shown that PPP has bagged 12 seats, JUI 1, MQM 1, PML-N 2, PML-Q 2.
