The NWFP chapter of PML-N has invited Nawaz Sharif and his family to land at Peshawar airport on return home to receive warm welcome. Addressing a press conference here at Peshawar Press Club (PPC), PML-N NWFP general secretary Anwar Kamal Marwat said that the schedule for return of the Sharif family would be decide in a central committee meeting of the party to be held on Saturday in Islamabad.
"The meeting will decide the place and time of the return of Nawaz Sharif," he added. He said that the good news in this regard would be announced within a week, after which the provincial chapter of the party would formally invite the Sharif family to land through Peshawar airport in the country.
Flanked by Arshad Qureshi, Mohammad Afzal, Khizer Hayat and other local leaders, Marwat hailed the Supreme Court verdict as a landmark and historic decision in the history of Pakistan.
The PML-N leader also linked the filing of reference against Chief Justice to prevent the latter from deciding against the interests of the rulers. Anwar alleged that the aim behind signing the promulgation order of emergency was also aimed to block the entry of the Sharif brothers. However, receiving one telephone call from Washington prevented it, he added.
Holding president Musharraf responsible for the present difficult situation confronting the country, he said it was wrong use of military in Bajaur, Waziristan and Lal Masjid operations.
He claimed that popularity graph of Nawaz Sharif was growing, and called upon all opposition political parties not to accept the results of the general elections and then implement the Charter of Democracy to prevent future military interventions in the country.
