PARIS: Farm office FranceAgriMer on Wednesday increased its forecast for French soft wheat stocks at the end of the 2016/17 season on June 30 to 3.0 million tonnes, from 2.75 million projected last month.
The upward revision to soft wheat stocks reflected an increase in expected imports, to 800,000 tonnes from 700,000 last month, and a cut in forecast soft wheat exports within the European Union, to 5.7 million tonnes from 6.0 million, which outweighed a rise in expected exports outside the EU to 5.0 million from 4.9 million.
In monthly supply and demand data posted on its website, FranceAgriMer lowered its forecast for barley stocks at the end of 2016/17 to 1.65 million tonnes from 1.9 million seen last month, mainly due to increase in expected exports outside the EU and in animal feed use.
