CHICAGO: Spot basis offers for US soymeal were unchanged on Tuesday in thin trading ahead of Thursday's US Thanksgiving Day holiday, dealers said.
Many livestock and poultry producers have bought what they needed for the rest of the year, and the pace of new buying was likely to slow to a near-halt surrounding of the holiday.
Chicago Board of Trade soymeal futures climbed to their highest levels in three weeks, further cooling demand. CBOT December soymeal futures were up $1.60 at $321.20 per ton at 9:59 a.m. CST (1559 GMT).
