SUKKUR: Commissioner Sukkur, Muhammad Abbas Baloch has directed that indiscriminate action be taken against hoarders and profiteers.
He said a few profiteers cannot be allowed to exploit people of Sukkur division.
He was presiding over a meeting of the Price Control Committee at his office here on Thursday, He said protection of rights of the people was responsibility of the concerned Government officers which should be discharged efficiently.
The meeting reviewed the implementation of prices of vegetable oil and ghee and the measures taken in this regard.
The Commissioner warned that the elements exploiting the masses in the form of profiteering will be put behind the bars.
He said the Chief Minister has directed to ensure sale of vegetable oil and ghee at fixed prices in the all districts of Sukkur division.
He said implementation of a comprehensive mechanism for keeping essential items within the reach of a common man will be continued and availability of quality essential commodities to the masses at affordable rates will also be ensured.
He directed that a crackdown on those involved in profiteering and overcharging be continued and indiscriminate action be taken against such elements.
