imageISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday was informed that the missing person Masood Janjua was killed in an attack in South Waziristan Agency.

The court was further apprised that there were evidences that the deceased Janjua and one other had links with Al-Qaeda.

This was told by Tariq Khokhar, Additional Attorney General (AAG) to a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry during the hearing of missing person case Masood Janjua.

During the course of proceeding, AAG apprised the court that Masood Janjua was not in the custody of intelligence agencies.

He said that a former ISI top officer had recorded his statement before the inquiry commission probing the missing persons' case that Masood Janjua had links with Al-Qaeda and had been killed in an attack in Waziristan.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry directed the AAG to present credible evidences for Masood Janjua's links with Al-Qaeda and his killing as the court was bound to go by the evidences and not the emotions. Amna Masood Janjua, wife of missing Janjua also appeared before the court and stated that the missing persons commission had taken U-turn after the statements by the intelligence agencies.

Later, the bench directed the AAG to submit a detailed report about the evidences in the case in the next date of hearing and adjourned further hearing of the case till September 13.
