KARACHI: On Tuesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,224.

The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 13.181 billion and the number of lots traded was 17,985. Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 6.333 billion, followed by NSDQ 100 PKR 1.666 billion, DJ PKR 1.482 billion, currencies through COTS PKR 1.055 billion, crude oil PKR 856.143 million, silver PKR 717.141 million, SP500 PKR 530.476 million, platinum PKR 376.018 million, natural gas PKR 147.855 million and copper PKR 15.707 million.

In agriculture commodities 9 lots of wheat amounting to PKR 36.982 million and 2 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 0.983 million were traded.
