KARACHI: On Friday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,227. The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 12.903 billion and the number of lots traded was 17,081.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 4.737 billion, followed by NSDQ 100 PKR 2.008 billion, DJ PKR 1.605 billion, currencies through COTS PKR 1.439 billion, SP500 PKR 1.029 billion, crude oil PKR 970.628 million, silver PKR 519.440 million, platinum PKR 488.775 million, natural gas PKR 94.997 million and copper PKR 7.673 million.
In agriculture commodities, 4 lots of wheat valued at PKR 16.402 million and 4 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 1.971 million were traded.
