KARACHI: On Wednesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,310. The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 15.211 billion and the number of lots traded was 17,869.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 9.397 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 1.528 billion, silver PKR 945.002 million, NSDQ 100 PKR 840.048 million, copper PKR 772.965 million, crude oil PKR 644.690 million, DJ PKR 474.138 million, platinum PKR 241.117 million, SP500 PKR 188.167 million and natural gas PKR 179.726 million.
In agriculture commodities, 4 lots of wheat amounting to PKR 16.623 million, 1 lot of soybean valued at PKR 7.133 million, 1 lot of corn valued at PKR 2.699 million and 2 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 0.991 million were traded.
