KARACHI: On Tuesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,287. The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 8.960 billion and the number of lots traded was 13,419.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 5.400 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 1.324 billion, crude oil PKR 590.380 million, NSDQ 100 PKR 492.309 million, silver PKR 424.060 million, DJ PKR 358.898 million, platinum PKR 204.101 million, SP500 PKR 77.390 million, natural gas PKR 72.882 million, copper PKR 12.747 million and Japan equity PKR 3.802 million.
In agriculture commodities, 9 lots of wheat amounting to PKR 37.292 million, 1 lot of soybean valued at PKR 7.048 million and 6 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 2.977 million were traded.
