KARACHI: On Tuesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 4,269.

The traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX was recorded at PKR 4.497 billion and the number of lots traded was 8,546.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 1.768 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 865.141 million, silver PKR 671.433 million, NSDQ 100 PKR 321.319 million, platinum PKR 303.131 million, crude oil PKR 254.341 million, SP500 PKR 140.511 million, natural gas PKR 96.468 million, DJ PKR 67.448 million and copper PKR 9.421 million.

In agriculture commodities, 18 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 8.993 million, one lot of soybean amounting to PKR 6.975 million and one lot of wheat amounting to PKR 4.221 million were traded.
