Pakistan cricket team ended their run at the ICC World Cup 2019 on a high note, showcasing their fans what could have been if the side hasn’t got those hiccups in the initial goings of the tournament.

The team ended with 11 points on the table with five wins and three loses, and the wins coming against the likes of England, South Africa and New Zealand. The Pakistani cricket fans must be thinking that the tournament should have started off now with the Men in Green being at their prime form.

However, the team did commit a number of mistakes pointed out Pakistan former captain-turned-cricket commentator Ramiz Raja that cost us in the end.

“Pakistan didn’t went with the right combination early on, Shaheen Shah Afridi only represented Pakistan in just five matches out of nine, the same goes with Haris Sohail who was benched for no good reason, these were the two major mistakes committed by the team,” said Raja.

Pakistan ended their World Cup run with 11 points but it was the Net Run Rate (NRR) of negative 0.43 that pushed the team to the fifth slot, as Australia, India, England and New Zealand made their way into the semifinals of the tournament.

“The loss against the West Indies was in reality the biggest hampering point for Pakistan, as the team was unable to recover from the negative Net Run Rate,” said Raja.
