China to launch two satellites for Pakistan in June

Maintaining friendly relationships with China, Pakistan has collaborated with the country to launch two satellites by June.

The news regarding the satellites is nothing new but the launch date is not yet confirmed. The China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALVT) confirmed that the Chinese government is all set to launch two remote sensing satellites for Pakistan in June. One of the satellites is an optical remote sensing one whereas, the other one is an experimental satellite.

New satellite from China will improve communication in Pakistan’s remote areas

The satellites will be used for geo-monitoring and taking images from the orbit. The Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1) was initially made for country’s multi-spectral imaging needs. Being the first international commercial launch after almost 18 years, the satellite will be send to space via Chinese Long March-2C rocket, which will also take Chine-France oceanography satellite as well in September. As the Chinese news agency Xinhua reports, the satellite will examine ocean wind and waves.

As Tech Juice explains, geo-sensing satellites are used to observe Earth and study the land resources. With the PRSS-1, Pakistan’s important regions such as forestry, agriculture, disaster management and weather forecast will be benefited.
