Ever since India’s ‘Zindagi’ channel start broadcasting Pakistani serials, these soaps have become quite popular within the Indian audience. A rage and comparisons of these serials with Indian soaps have become a topic of several discussions.
Regular watchers say Pakistani serials are much ahead of Indian sagas. The serials are close to reality, says Avneet Kaur, “I am a big fan of these serials only because of their concept. The best thing is that they don't wear tons of makeup and jewellery while eating and sleeping. They live real lives. Also, the stories are mostly women-oriented and that is one thing I like the most about them,” Times of India reported.
Bollywood veteran actress Kajol too praised the content of Pakistani dramas and said, “They have good content and the language is extremely pleasant to hear”. Moreover she feels that Indian television producers have a lot to learn from Pakistan’s serials which are much shorter and crispier in comparison.
Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, who is now been referred as the ‘next big thing in Bollywood’ has also rose to fame with his popular drama series ‘Humsafar’ and ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’. However, it’s not only Fawad Khan who touched millions of hearts, instead the storyline of each Pakistani drama seems relatable to the Indian audience.
‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’, ‘Humsafar’, ‘Aunn Zara’, ‘Kitni Girhain Baki Hain’, ‘Maat’ and ‘Kaash Main Teri Beti Na Hoti’ are just a few of the more popular drama serials that are giving India’s homegrown productions a run for their money.
