imageThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a donation of Rs1 million to former batsman Hanif Mohammad due to complications from a recurring cancer disease.

Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Executive Committee administrator Najam Sethi announced and took to his official account Twitter and said,

Hanif Mohammad was diagnosed with lung cancer three years ago. He had undergone chemotherapy and surgery for his lung cancer in 2013 in London. However, the cancer spread with time and it has been reappeared.

Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah paid visit to the hospital and enquired about Hanif’s health. Sindh CM also announced to give one million rupees for the treatment of the legendary Pakistani batsman.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif also promised to provide all possible facilities for Hanif Mohammad’s treatment. He also praised the veteran for his services to Pakistan.

Hanif appeared in 55 Tests for his country and earned the status of a superstar cricketer in the formative years of Pakistan cricket due to his batting exploits.
