imageKARACHI: Pakistan's former batting supremo Muhammad Yousuf has rated Asad Shafiq as the best technical batsman in national team but his talent is being wasted with consistent changing and chopping.

"I would not dropped Asad if he would have been dismissed on ducks 10-15 times. Because I know he got the potential to deliver if given confidence and boosted by the captain," he told a private television, after team another humiliation in the fifth ODI against the Protease.

"Due to problems within in the team, we are wasting a great talent in Asad Shafiq by regularly changing and dropping now and than in every Test and ODI series," he pointed out.

"If you keep dropping a batsman of his caliber, he will dishearten and suffer mentally and cannot perform in such an environments," he said.

"While almost every batsmen is not performing why Asad is being dropped," he asked.

He said Umar Amin was included the last ODI in place of Asad despite his consistent failures in the series.

"Pakistan suffered after inform Asad, who scored century in second Test in Dubai and handed out the same treatment when team toured South Africa earlier this year," he said.
