HAMILTON: New Zealand was bowled out for 185 on the opening day of the second Test against South Africa Thursday after a dramatic batting collapse.

Brendon McCullum top scored with 61 as the Black Caps slumped from 2-133 to be all out for 185 after South African pacemen Vernon Philander and Dale Steyn tore through the New Zealand middle order.

Philander finished with figures of four for 70 and Steyn notched three for 49.
