Covid-19: 95 new deaths reported

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Friday reported another 95 coronavirus deaths and 4,016 new Covid-19 cases over the last 24 hours, taking the nationwide death toll to 25,415 and cases tally to 1,144,341, official figures released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) revealed.

According to the NCOC website, 62,496 coronavirus tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours, of which 4,016 returned positive.

According to the official portal, the rate of positive cases during the last 24 hours was recorded at 6.42 percent.

After the emergence of 4,016 fresh Covid-19 cases, the number of active coronavirus cases has jumped to 92,844.

Alarming spike in Covid-19 deaths: NCOC

The NCOC data said that 3,235 coronavirus patients over the past 24 hours recovered, taking the nationwide recoveries tally to 1,026,082, which is 89.7 percent of the total cases reported in the country. There were 5,515 Covid-infected patients under treatment in critical condition with 39 infected people admitted during the past 24 hours in various Covid dedicated healthcare facilities of the country.

Since the pandemic broke out, a total of 1,144,341 cases have been detected including the deaths, recovered and under treatment Covid-19 patients, Sindh with 427,037 cases is on top of which 1,423 in the past 24 hours followed by Punjab with 386,578 cases of which 1,320 were reported in the past 24 hours, and the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) with 159,483 cases of which 519 were reported in the past 24 hours.

Similarly, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has reported a total 97,956 of which 414 cases were reported in past 24 hours, Balochistan with 32,014 cases, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) with 31,087 cases of which 184 cases were reported in the past 24 hours, and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) with 9,795 cases of which 26 cases were reported in the past 24 hours.
