pakistanISLAMABAD: A delegation of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPAs from Balochistan called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr Saturday night.

The delegation included among others Mir Mohammad Saddiq Umrani, Mir Mohammad Amin Umrani, Mr. Jan Ali Changezi, Haji Ali Madad Jattak, Agha Irfan Karim, Mr. Tahir Mahmood Khan, Mr. Mohammad Younas Mullazai, Mr. Mohammad Ismail Gujjar, Mr. Asfand Yar Kakar and Mr. Jaffer George.

Ms. Asma Arbab Alamgir, Begum Shahnaz Wazir Ali and Ms. Rukhsana Bangah were also present.

Matters related to current political situation in the province, law and order and developmental projects were discussed during the meeting.

The members also discussed with the President matters related to their constituencies.

The President during meeting said that the Government was committed to the uplift of the people of Balochistan and to bring them into the mainstream of national life.

He said that past neglect of the area created a sense of deprivation among the people.

He said that PPP Government was taking all possible steps to undo the past neglect by focusing on socio-economic uplift of the people. The President said that out of various developmental projects announced by the present government, a number of them had either been completed or were underway.

Talking about the incidents of attacks on Hazara community, the President said that such incidents of target killings and sectarian violence were most regrettable.

Expressing his heartfelt condolences with the families who suffered such barbaric and inhuman killings, the President said that he has directed the Interior Minister to take it up with the Balochistan authorities and to render all possible assistance if asked by the provincial government to put to an end all such incidents of violence against Hazara community.

The President also called upon the MPAs of the Party to reach out to the people and to highlight their issues for redressal.
