Addressing a public meeting at Koobay Chak here on Sunday after inaugurating National Savings Center and Pakistan Postal Services office, she said the poor of the country were real asset of the PPP who had ever voted the PPP to power.

State Minister for Finance Saleem Mandavi, Special Advisor to AJK Prime Minister Ch Tahir Sultan, Director General Pakistan Postal Services Corporation Ghulam Punjtan Rizvi, Director General Central Directorate of National Savings Zafar Mehmood Sheikh, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Sheikh Abdul Majeed, Chairman Sialkot International Airport Limited Ch Muhammad Ashfaq and MPA Tahir Mehmood Hundali were also present.

"The Bhutto family has strengthened democracy in the country after sacrificing their lives and the PPP has history of great sacrifices," she added.

Dr. Firdous added that the PPP was guardian of the Constitution and democracy in the country as democracratic process was on its right path. She said democratic norms and values were getting political boost now in the country after an effective political strategy of the PPP government.

The minister urged the masses to reject those politicians who had stolen the mandate of the people and plundered the national exchequer in the past.

On this occasion, State Minister for Finance Saleem Mandavi said the PPP would continue the democratic system to serve the poor without any discrimination besides continuing the traditions of political excellence of the Bhutto family in the country.

He said it was the first time in the country's history that a democratic government was going to complette its constitutional tenure.
