31 Dec, 2012

Talking to a private news channel, he said that the PPP government has appointed independent Chief Election Commissioner.

He added that any one who has proposal regarding next election should present it to the Election Commission instead of government.

According to constitution, government and opposition will form caretaker government after consultation, he remarked.

He said free and fair elections would be held in the country. He added that next government will be elected by the people of Pakistan.

To a query, he replied that staging of a large public gathering is not a major development because the PPP had also staged large gatherings in Lahore.

He remarked that the PPP recently staged a huge procession in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.

In response to another question regarding Dr Tahirul Qadri's demands about caretaker government and election, he said no one is powerful than the PPP as it is a federal party.
