European feeds up with CBOT on US crush data, weak dollar

17 Dec, 2012

* "The dollar remained to dominate the direction of the market, but players were showing little interest, winding down business towards the end of the year," one broker said.

* South American soymeal was offered between unchanged and $3 a tonne up from Friday following CBOT soymeal futures and a weaker dollar, which supported dollar-priced products. Bids were scarce and no deals were reported.

* EU rapemeal was offered between 1 euro up 3 euros per tonne down, partly following soymeal, but the weaker dollar, which weighs on euro-priced products, and easier rapeseed futures limited gains. No business was seen.
