Danish economy has slowed from previous estimate: central bank

10 Dec, 2012

The Danish economy has struggled to keep recession at bay this year, and last month narrowly escaped once more, posting a lower-than-expected, slim rise in third-quarter output as the economy's main growth drivers ran out of steam.

"With the recent GDP figures we have seen, it looks like growth has slowed down," central bank Governor Nils Bernstein told Reuters in an interview before he is due to retire at the end of January.

In its most recent forecast for the economy in September, the Central Bank, Nationalbanken, cut its forecasts for economic growth this year to 0.3 percent.
