This he said as chief guest in a seminar "water as corporate social responsibilities" organized by Human Rights Group of Pakistan here at a local hotel.

He said that due to unsafe water there were many hazards to the health and this matter should be taken up seriously.

The people in remote areas of the province were very happy because PPP - led government had installed Reverse Osmosis to provide them pure drinking water at their door steps.

On this occasion while addressing the seminar as guest of honour Minister for Information Sharrjeel Inam Memon said that the Sindh government had allocated Rs. 8.5 billion in its annual budget 2012-13 for the purpose.

The allocated amount would be utilized for provision of clean drinking water through drinking water hubs, reverse osmosis plants, ultra filtration plants and desalination plants in various parts of the province, he added.

He said in the first phase, a total 225 water filtration plants are being established in 9 districts of province.

He said that pure drinking water is the basic need of all human beings and the government has focused to provide basic facilities to the people.

Chairman of Human Rights Group of Pakistan, Dr. Sher Ali Rizvi, Coordinator to Chief Minister Sindh on Human Rights Ms. Nadia Gabol and many foreign experts from around the world also spoke on the occasion in the seminar.

Expert from Africa Ramzi Odabid stated that Africa was looking at Pakistan as a role model for water management.

The Government's role was lauded by Sconke of UNOCHP for taking such solid initiatives. Awards were also presented at the end of the seminar.
