Pakistani parliamentarians are visiting New York to participate in the 2012 Parliamentary Hearing at the UN General Assembly. In the meeting both sides agreed to enhance cooperation between the IPU and Pakistan's Parliament, a news release said.

They also discussed the agenda and format of the Hearing. Anders B. Johnsson, the IPU Secretary General, expressed his desire to visit Pakistan in the second half of 2013.

Other members of the delegation include Senator Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari, Senator Eng. Malik Rashid Ahmed Khan, Senator Mukhtiar Ahmad Dharmah and MNA Arif Aziz Sheikh.

The theme of the Hearing is "A road less travelled: the role of parliaments in conflict prevention, reconciliation and peace building".
