Around 50 art pieces of young artist displayed at RAC

Member National Assembly Najma Hameed, Tahira Aurangzeb along with Naheed Manzoor and Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition.

 

Mostly self-taught artist Asif Wajahat has been doing solo exhibitions since 2002.

 

He has exhibited his art work in major art galleries in Lahore and Karachi. He mostly paints landscapes and abstract in oil and water colour.

 

After inaugural ceremony, Senator Najma Hameed said that Rawalpindi Arts Council has always been striving hard for exploring new talent.

 

She said that work of Asif Wajahat is very impressive and needs to work hard for touching zenith of popularity.

 

She further said that landscapes of Islamabad and Lahore outskirts are very eye-catching and provide soothing to the visitors.

 

MNA Tahira Aurangzeb said that an artist is the sensitive faction of the society who observed it critically and transfer his experience on canvas.

 

Naheed Manzoor said that Rawalpindi Arts Council always gave importance to individuals and provided platform without any discrimination for the encouragement of the new talent.

 

She added that Asif Wajahat is asset of Potohar and it was the obligation of this Council to accommodate him.

 

Resident Director RAC was of the view that this Council fulfilled its basic obligation by providing opportunity to Asif Wajahat for displaying his inner qualities.

 

A large number of art lovers from twin cities gathered to see solo show of Asif Wajahat.
