PPP always protected farmers' rights: Sumsam

Addressing a huge public gathering after inaugurating electricity supply to the fruit and vegetable market, Renala Khurd, he said the provision of basic necessities, like electricity and gas had always been top priority of the government.

 

He said a record number of development projects were accomplished during four and a half years. Lambasting the Punjab government, the minister said the development process had been restricted to Lahore only. In fact, he said, they could not see beyond Lahore.

 

He said, "We don't believe in sloganeering but winning hearts of the masses through good work."

 

Sumsam Bukhari said the country was facing multiple problems and sectarianism and baradrism (clan system) had jolted the foundation of the country.

 

He called for unity among all sects to frustrate elements lurking to weaken Pakistan. Stressing the vitality of vote, the minister urged people to use their right to franchise according to their conscience and in favour of genuine and committed candidates.

 

On the demand of the Anjuman Arhtian chairman regarding development work in the fruit and vegetable market in Renala Khurd, the minister said as the date of releasing development funds was to end by 31st December this year, there was a remote chance of funds release but added that he would try his best to resolve the matter on priority.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman, Anjuman Arhtian fruit and vegetable market, Renala Khurd, Zahoor Shaheen, thanked the minister for personal interest in electricity supply to the market. He also brought other issues into the notice of the minister.

 

Earlier, the state minister formally inaugurated electricity supply to the fruit and vegetable market.
