Alleged Alec Baldwin stalker released from jail

Genevieve Sabourin was released on $5,000 bail Wednesday, but may face additional harassment charges after sending tweets to Baldwin and his wife this month in violation, according to prosecutors, of a restraining order.

The order extends to December 19, when Sabourin is due back in court.

Baldwin filed stalking charges against Sabourin earlier this year, accusing her of sending love-struck emails, asking him to marry her and showing up uninvited at his Manhattan apartment.

Sabourin, 40, who was first arrested in April and detained for 36 hours, has said the stalking allegations are part of a "misunderstanding."

Sabourin told AFP she had been romantically involved with Baldwin -- star of the television show "30 Rock" -- for several months.

"Since he appeared to be seeing someone else, and quite seriously, I came to her door unannounced to get her version of the facts and to understand what was happening," she said.

Sabourin met the 54-year-old Baldwin in 2002 on the set of the Eddie Murphy film "The Adventures of Pluto Nash."
