Cement export posts 17.30pc increase in four months

The export of cement during the same period of last financial year was recorded at 3,078,804 metric tons valuing US$ 161.978 million, said data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

 

Meanwhile, the export of gems and jewellery increased by 48.35 percent and 387.24 percent during the period from October-November 2012 as about 5 metric ton gems worth US$ 1.39 million exported as compared the 2 metric tons costing US$ 0.939 million during same period of last year.

 

The data revealed that in first four months, jewellery export recorded 387.24 growths as country earned US$ 905.91 million by exporting jewellery of different varieties which was recorded at US$ 185.9 million during same period of last financial year.

 

However, furniture export from the country reduced by 1.01 percent as about 79,000 numbers of furniture worth US$ 2.4 million exported in the period under review as against the 151,000 numbers costing US$ 2.47 million in same period of last year, it added.

 

From October-November 2012, country earned US$ 0.433 million by exporting about 3,169 metric tons of molasses which was up by 73.20 percent adding that about 2,054 metric tons molasses costing US$ 0.250 million exported during same period of last year.

 

Guar and guar preparations posted 53.55 percent growth during the period under review as about 9,916 metric tons of the products worth US$ 45.66 million exported as compared to 10,l86 metric tons of US$ 29.74 million export during the same period of last year.
