Driver of mini bus loses life due to faulty CNG cylinder

DSP of Gulshan e Iqbal, Farhat Iqbal giving details of the unfortunate incident said the cylinder presumably exploded while being filled with compressed natural gas (CNG) beyond its specified capacity.

 

He said all possible cause of the incident, that also damaged other vehicles waiting to be filled with required fuel at the CNG station, are also being investigated.

 

"We, however, are quite sure that this was not a terrorist related activity," he said.

 

Injured, he said have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center.

 

In reply to a question, he said there was an urgent need to launch a campaign against vehicle owners and drivers using obsolete or faulty CNG cylinders at the cost of precious human lives.

 

He acknowledged that this was more commonly registered among public vehicles.
