Sindh govt. establishes office of Provincial Ombudsman for Protection of Women

The office of Provincial Ombudsman for Protection against Harassment of Women at the Work Place has been established under Act No: IV of 2010, Mir Muhammad Halepoto, Consultant/Director of the office said in a release on Monday.

 

Former judge of Sindh High Court Syed Pir Ali Shah has been appointed as first Ombudsman of newly created office, he said.

 

As per law all government departments, corporations, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies and public sector organizations are required to form Enquiry Committee consisting of a chairman and two members with one among them essentially a female for hearing complaints.

 

The aggrieved working woman may file complaints before the Enquiry Committee constituted by the concerned department or organization or may directly file complaints before Provincial Ombudsman. The complainants may contact at 99222744 for further information.
