Canada job figures flat in October

02 Nov, 2012

Public sector employees increased by 37,000, but the gain was offset by a decline in the private sector which had been responsible for most of the job gains in the previous 12 months.

Employment in October grew in Quebec and Newfoundland provinces, while it fell in Manitoba and westernmost British Columbia.

The number of agriculture jobs fell and little change was recorded in other industries.
