President Zardari reviews Zulfikarabad project

The President while chairing a meeting to review the ongoing project at Bilawal House said Zulfiqarabad has to be and will be a model city to meet the needs of country.

He said the new city was destined to gain commercial and economic prominence in next few years.

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali and provincial ministers, Pakistan Ambassador to USA Sherry Rehman, MNA Shazia Marri besides senior officials of Zulfiqarabad Development Authority and officials of president's secretariat.

President Zardari was given an extensive briefing about the project by Managing Director ZDA Lt. Gen (retd) Iftikhar Hussain Shah.

The meeting discussed in detail different issues about the Zulfikarabad city, that would require one million acres of land in stage-I.

President Zardari said the project would also retain the cultural and historical traditions of Thatta, that at one point of time was also a major commercial hub in South Asia.

Secretary General to the President Salman Farooqui, Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inaam Memon, Sindh Minister for Law Ayaz Soomro, Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister Sharmila Farooqui, Mumtaz Ali Halipoto, ZDA's Director for Planning and Nasreen Haq, Special Secretary were also attended the meeting.
