The main TAIEX index closed 0.01 percent or 1.01 points higher at 7,465.41. The biggest losing sectors were the computer and peripheral sub-index and department stores sub-index, both of which shed over 0.9 percent.

The Taiwan dollar was little changed to stand at T$29.239.

Foreign investors were net sellers on Wednesday, bringing their total selling to T$11.2 billion this month.
