Malala's forelimbs show movement, a positive sign: ISPR

"The Medical Specialists of Malala on Saturday reduced her sedition to know her condition, subsequently she moved her forelimbs, which is a positive sign", he told a news briefing.

 

"She is in stable condition as her all vital organs are working normally but still on ventilator", he said.

 

The teenaged schoolgirl was targeted on Tuesday by militants while on her way to home from School.

 

In reply to a question he said that the decision to remove her of the ventilators would only be taken by the panel of doctors, he added however this may be done tomorrow.

 

Regarding damages to her skull or other abilities of the injured, he said, this can only be ascertained after she is out of sedition and this again will be decided by the panel of the doctors when she is not to be kept on further sedition. He said in such cases the process of recovery is slow thus requires patience to be exercised.

 

Meanwhile, he said all the contingency plans are in-hand to send her abroad but this again would be suggested by the team of doctors whether to send abroad or not.

 

He said that all efforts are in hand to arrest the culprits involved in to the heinous crime, as already a number of suspects have been rounded up and investigations are still on. He said exact number of the arrests could not be given at this stage.

 

In reply to a question regarding the health of two other school girls injured during the attack, he said they both are in stable condition and best medical services are being provided to them to ensure their early recovery.

 

Answering a question regarding launch of operation in North Waziristan, he said this is a political decision to be taken by the appropriate people.
