Greek official inflation slows to 0.9pc September

09 Oct, 2012

Compared to last month, prices rose by 2.5 percent, the Hellenic statistical authority added.

The 12-month price increases were mostly due to a 5.7-percent rise in the cost of housing and a 3.3-percent increase in transport costs.

These were partially offset by falls in the cost of household equipment and health.

The Greek government has estimated an average inflation rate of 0.6 percent for the year overall.
